Harringay’s ‘Ladder’ — the grid of streets between Green Lanes and Wightman Road — is one of London’s finest collections of late-Victorian terraces. We’ve been repointing brickwork like this for over 35 years.
The Harringay Ladder — twenty parallel streets running between Green Lanes and Wightman Road — was built between 1880 and 1900 as part of the Hornsey and Harringay Park Estates. The terraces are known for their decorative brickwork, date stones and sash windows, and many still carry their original lime mortar joints over a century later.
Just to the east, the St Ann’s conservation area around Chestnuts Park contains further Victorian terraces where the council expects repointing to be carried out in lime mortar rather than cement. We’ve worked on terraces throughout Harringay and understand the detailing — from date stones to decorative banding — that makes this housing stock distinctive.

“Chris is a craftsman and master pointer. He made a really beautiful job of repointing the whole side of our building. I can’t recommend him highly enough.”
