Tottenham’s streets are lined with Victorian and Edwardian terraces, from the grand houses near Bruce Castle to the tighter rows around Seven Sisters and Tottenham Hale. We’ve been repointing brickwork like this for over 35 years.
Tottenham is one of North London’s great Victorian suburbs — built up rapidly in the late 19th century as the railways arrived, leaving streets of brick terraces stretching from Bruce Grove through to South Tottenham. Many of these properties retain their original lime mortar joints, now often eroded after well over a century of London weather.
The Tottenham High Road Historic Corridor takes in several conservation areas — North Tottenham, Scotland Green, Bruce Grove, Tottenham Green and Seven Sisters/Page Green — where the council expects repairs to use traditional lime mortar rather than hard cement pointing. We’ve carried out repointing on terraces in this area and understand what local conservation officers look for.

“Chris is a craftsman and master pointer. He made a really beautiful job of repointing the whole side of our building. I can’t recommend him highly enough.”
