Brick tinting & colouring

New brickwork that doesn’t match the old. A repair that stands out. Brick tinting is a specialist process and when it’s done well, you genuinely can’t see the join.

Brick tinting result, Epping Forest

The most common reason people call me about brick tinting is a repair where the new bricks don’t match the original. It’s one of those things that once you’ve noticed it, you can’t stop seeing it. The good news is it’s fixable.

I use breathable, UV-stable tinting systems that go into the surface of the brick rather than sitting on top of it. A surface coating will eventually peel or flake. A tint that’s absorbed into the brick becomes part of it.

I mix the colours on site and do sample patches until we’re both happy with the match before I do the full job. On a good day the result is genuinely invisible.

  • Breathable, UV-stable tints — go into the brick, not on top of it
  • Colour matched on site — samples approved before full works
  • Used to blend repairs, match extensions or refresh whole elevations
  • Experience with listed buildings and Historic England colour standards
  • Free site visit and honest assessment of what’s achievable
